Annual Family Farm Day Event Scheduled for October 3 at Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in Enid

ENID, Okla. — Come and enjoy the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center’s annual Family Farm Day on Saturday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year, Family Farm Day will focus on the “agri-CULTURE” of northwest Oklahoma. It will feature special programming by the various immigrant communities in northwest Oklahoma. Other activities include educational opportunities about how different grains and products were grown and used by the diverse cultures that immigrated to the region.
The event will also have pumpkin painting, pony rides, vintage tractors, live music and more! There will also be a silent auction full of locally made baked goods. Okie Dokie Dogs of Enid will be on site selling food, including German bratwurst. Caramel apples will be available for $1, and free popcorn will be available.
Sidwell Distribution and the Garfield County Hispanic Coalition are doing programs on masa and tamales. The Kaw Nation will be demonstrating the making of fry bread with bison and corn soup. There will be noodle and hominy-making demos. Leonardo’s Children’s Museum and the Oklahoma Micronesian Coalition will also be conducting programs.
